#AteneoVeneto13thApril: Press release of the Eastern Mediterranean Coalition
Venice, 13th April 2018
Aware of our responsibilities and confident about the future of our local communities, we met today in the Florian Café for internal discussions in the morning session, and at the Ateneo Veneto of Venice for an open session which was attended by more than 100 people. Our talks resulted in the following Venice Declaration.
Together we commit
to promote sustainable tourism based on mutual respect, the protection of the environment, the preservation of our cultural and natural heritage. To achieve these objectives,
We will stand together in
raising awareness, networking, developing and exchanging good practices, advocating for better policies aimed at ensuring quality of life for both our local communities and visitors alike, and in promoting this network for sustainable islands and coastal towns, which remains open to new members.
Today in Venice we agreed
to hold the next meeting on 12 and 13 October in Kerkyra – Corfu, and to welcome the new members from Crete.

Mε επίγνωση των ευθυνών και της αισιοδοξίας μας για το μέλλον των τοπικών κοινωνιών μας συναντηθήκαμε σήμερα στο Florian Cafe για εσωτερικές συζητήσεις στην πρωινή συνάντηση μας και στο Ateneo Veneto για ανοικτή συνάντηση στην οποία συμμετείχαν περισσότερα από 100 άτομα. Οι συνομιλίες μας οδήγησαν στην ακόλουθη δήλωση της Βενετίας
Μαζί δεσμευόμαστε
Να προωθήσουμε τον βιώσιμο τουρισμό με βάση τον αμοιβαίο σεβασμό , την προστασία του περιβάλλοντος , τη διατήρηση της πολιτισμικής και φυσικής μας κληρονομιάς . Για την επίτευξη αυτών των στόχων
Θα σταθούμε μαζί για
Τη διεύρυνση της ευαισθητοποίησης ,την ανταλλαγή καλών πρακτικών, .την συνηγορία για την προαγωγή καλύτερων πολιτικών που αποσκοπούν στη διασφάλιση της ποιότητας ζωής τόσο για τις τοπικές κοινωνίες όσο και για τους επισκέπτες ,καθώς και για την προώθηση αυτού του δικτύου για τη βιωσιμότητα των νησιών και παράκτιων πόλεων . Το Δίκτυο παραμένει ανοικτό για την ένταξη άλλων προορισμών ως μελών
Σήμερα στη Βενετία συμφωνήσαμε
Να πραγματοποιηθεί η επόμενη συνάντηση στις 12 και 13 Οκτωβρίου στη Κέρκυρα και να καλωσορίσουμε τα νέα μέλη από την Κρήτη.”
